WholeCare is a new Christian initiative, arising out of a major report on the Christian healing ministry, and set up by a small group of doctors and clergy. As Christians we believe that physical, psychological and spiritual well-being are closely related. It is therefore important that people in our healthcare system are cared for in an integrated way, as whole people.
The aims of WholeCare are to identify, provoke, and encourage new approaches to whole-person healthcare, which are fruitful, and compatible with NHS structures within the UK.
We intend to do this by providing a forum which will -
Share practical initiatives in providing whole-person healthcare from a Christian perspective;
Help, encourage and provide support for one another;
Develop the spiritual dimension of whole person care, especially within community settings and Primary Care;
Produce educational and training packages for health care workers involved in the provision of the whole person approach to health;
We plan to achieve this by means of this website, holding conferences and seminars, developing University based eduational programmes, and the appointment of Research Fellows.
